About the cause!

Willy Lucky Pet Rescue provides emergency treatment, post-surgical recovery, and family placement of adoptable pets that would otherwise be euthanized. For more than a decade, Robin Reese DVM and her sister Erin Gantenbein, have been helping pets in need. Some of their rescues have endured trauma from abuse or neglect, some are simply abandoned without reason. What started as a financially manageable arrangement between the duo to care for these pets, swelled exponentially with the growth in their community. The demand for this service was high, and between the sisters, had become monetarily unsustainable. They began their nonprofit charity to continue their mission of sparing adoptable pets from the tragic fate of convenience euthanasia.

Willy Lucky Pet Rescue's namesake is a Boston Terrier that was surrendered by his family for euthanasia. Despite several physical challenges, Willy's unwavering perseverance inspired the creation of the charity, laying the foundation for abandoned pets all over the community.
